About ClearBill
Bringing transparency to medical pricing so you can dispute inflated bills with data.
Our Mission
We believe disputing medical bills should be accessible. You shouldn't need a law degree to push back on inflated hospital charges using legal hooks and fair market value.
We don't just show you what you owe; we provide the roadmap to help you attempt to resolve it. No more guessing games, no more dodging phone calls—just a clear path back to financial freedom.
We are not a debt settlement company. We are a self-help tool that empowers you to take the lead in your own recovery.
Procedure Price Search: Our Data Source
Our procedure price search uses publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). All prices are derived from the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) carrier files for calendar year 2026. We map your zip code to Medicare localities using the CMS Zip-to-Carrier-Locality (ZPLC) file, then apply state-specific cost multipliers to estimate commercial fair price—what you might reasonably expect to pay (or argue for) when paying cash or disputing a bill.
Medicare rates are a widely used benchmark in healthcare pricing. Hospitals and insurers often use them as a floor for negotiations. By surfacing these prices—and comparing them to state and national averages—we give you a clear reference point to understand whether a bill is inflated and to advocate for fair pricing.
Why This Tool Is Useful
- Compare prices—See what your procedure typically costs in your area and in nearby zip codes.
- Benchmark your bill—If you were charged above state or national averages, you have data to support a dispute.
- Plan ahead—Search before a procedure to understand fair market value and negotiate with providers.
We are not a provider or insurer. We are a self-help tool that organizes public pricing data so you can make informed decisions and push back when bills don't add up.
